While sitting here in the Nerd room, watching the remake of the Wolf Man, deciding what to blog next, I've thought about the people asking where the name for my production company came from. As I watch Benecio Del Toro and Anthony Hopkins do battle as the Wolfmen, I realize there's two sides to every coin. It strangely enough came to me in a dream. I dreamt one night that I was on a cruise ship with my friends. As we jumped in a clothes hamper we went into a water tunnel and through a encased water slide we came out a sewer line in a small town. It was as the dream progressed we discovered we could jump in a certain part of a town (let's say a quick sand pit or a sewer pipe) and come out miles and miles away in another part. As a awoke, I started to write a script for this masterpiece of a dream. But the problem was to come up with a title. Out of nowhere I suddenly said "Dreamscape." It was in that moment the word left my mouth that I realized that this was meant to be the name of my company. The "Dream" part coming from the fact that anything we can dream we can make, the "Scape" part saying that my videos are an escape into fantasy, and the "Reality" part saying that it's a what you see is really there. It could never have been a more bizarre way to come up with a title. But it's here and I love it. As well as the logo too. Generic but amazing. --- 'Nuff said.
