I swear to God, Jimmy Kimmel gets all the good sh*t. Weeks before the release of the STAR WARS film, the CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR trailer got dropped like a duck in DUCK HUNT. Worst joke ever. So anyway, I got a whole video over that where you can see my reaction. If you really want to, because mine is like one in 10,000 that got posted that night. And yeah the trailer was awesome.
So I can get the general just from it. Hydra is now within the government and frames Bucky for all the sh*t that went down during the 70 year span he was brainwashed, including the death of Stark and Black Panther's parents. So naturally, he's on the run. Cap though, still thinking he can save him, attempts to help his former friend while at the same time taking the law into his own hands as the government wants him to hand Bucky over and sign a standard issue form stating he is accountable for his actions. And at the helm of his chase is, you guessed it, Tony Stark.
Now to be fair, with such a huge storyline like the Civil War, it is hard not to have a huge line up of heroes, but apparently this one has more than AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON! However, it is a Captain America story, and the trailer shows that Marvel is definitely treating it as such.
But there's this one little thing that's p***ing me off... is Spider-Man in this movie or not? For God sakes, I've never seen anything like this. First he's confirmed by Kevin Figie and Sony, then Chris Evans doesn't know. Then James Gunn confirms the suit, then Tom Holland says he hasn't read the script. Then Sebastian Stan says "Who?" Then Robert Downey Jr. is seen chumming on set with him, then Chris Evans says "Oh well, they don't always use what they shoot." Good Lord. I've never seen a company beat around the bush this bad. They've got me so confused now I'm walking into this not expecting to see him at all. Marvel Studios has no idea how badly this could backlash on them too if he's not in there. Even if it is a cameo. Just.. GOD GIVE ME A STRAIGHT ANSWER!!
Even though this feels like another Avengers movie, I'm just happy there's a whole new Captain America movie altogether. But doesn't mean I'm not ready for Infinity War as well. That will be nuts.
